Waging am See

Waging am See is a historic Bavarian town situated in the heart of "Chiemgau" county in the Bavarian Alpine foothills.

Located on the shore of Lake "Waginger See", which is deemed to be the warmest bathing water in Bavaria, the town of Waging is an ideal destination for family holidays.

The town centre has been lovingly restored and is now a popular meeting point for both local people and holiday guests. You are welcome at numerous cafés and restaurants to taste culinary delights or to spend a warm summer evening in the beer garden sipping a glass of fine draught beer.

The town of Waging is often referred to as the "Cradle of the Bavarians". Archaeological finds bear actually witness to the early colonisation of the local area. Already in former times, people appreciated the pleasant mild climate and the fertile soil of "Chiemgau" county. You can learn more about the history of the town and the local area visiting the "Bajuwarenhaus" Museum.

The "Wellnessgarten Waging" Spa Centre with its "Garden of the Senses" and various saunas as well as the "Strandkurhaus" Restaurant, which is well-known beyond the local area, are also worth visiting.
